We are pleased to announce the publication of the Summer 2025 issue of Russian Language Journal (Volume 75, Issue 1). This special issue, guest-edited by Maria Bondarenko (Heidelberg University/University of Montreal), is dedicated to acquisition and alternative approaches to teaching Russian motion verbs.

Call for Special Issue Proposals

The Russian Language Journal invites proposals for future special issues focused on timely and significant topics in applied linguistics, pedagogy, and language teaching. We welcome proposals that explore a wide range of perspectives and methodologies, especially in the following areas:

  • Slavic linguistics and language pedagogy
  • Intersections between literature and language
  • Corpus linguistics
  • Digital Humanities/AI Studies
  • Sociolinguistics
  • Language acquisition
  • Decolonization in Slavic studies

We seek guest editor(s) who will curate an issue around a compelling theme that advances scholarship and resonates with RLJ’s readership.
