Expanding Language Program Design to Meet Liberal Arts Goals

In this webinar, Dr. Rifkin (Professor of Russian and Dean of Arts & Sciences at Hofstra University) will lead participants in a discussion of liberal arts goals in higher education and best practices on how those liberal arts goals can be embedded in Russian language, literature, and culture classes. Discussants will then work in small groups, taking advantage of the technology, to describe ways to assess learning tasks in our curricula in accordance with these best practices. The webinar will conclude with suggestions for how this approach can be used on the program level to report up to deans and provosts about liberal arts learning outcomes in addition to language proficiency outcomes.
In advance of the webinar, attendees are asked to visit and explore this website: www.aacu.org/leap

In addition, attendees are asked to download the VALUE Rubrics from that website and to read through them before the webinar.

The recording of the webinar will be sent to everyone registered.
The webinar is free for all ACTR members ($15 for non-members).
Live attendees will receive a certificate of participation, if requested.
